Nile Index is a fictional profile used to demonstrate the layout. A real profile is written with the creator and approved by them before it is published.
Nile Index is a fictional print studio used as demonstration content. In this example, the studio walks the city with a sketchbook, recording hand-painted shop signs, tram tickets and the lettering on market stalls.
Those drawings become two-colour risograph prints and small-run zines, printed in editions and numbered by hand.
Mission
To archive everyday lettering before it is painted over.
Philosophy
Ordinary type is a city's handwriting. Printing it is a way of reading it slowly.
